Welcome to ETHIOPIA 2020,
a transnational Non Governmental Organisation (NGO)
seeking to create a NEW ETHIOPIA; vibrant, progressive, economically viable, democratically governed and Proud;
committed to bringing peace, stability and progress to the Greater Rift Valley Region, and serve as the catalyst
for the creation of a democratically elected government of , by, and for
THE ETHIOPIAN PEOPLES. |
Our purpose in launching this web site is twofold: to
work on developing our own COMPREHENSIVE 10 YEAR PLAN for a NEW, PROUD, VIBRANT, DEMOCRATIC and FREE ETHIOPIA, as
an integral component Pillar for creating a More Perfect AFRICAN UNION; and, to function as a Think Tank and Catalyst, along
with our member and associated Individuals and organizations, to form an effective de facto ETHIOPIAN PEOPLES' GOVERNMENT
IN EXILE, to not only contest the present government at the June,
2010 election, but also to work together with all deliberate haste through September 11, 2010, in time for the Ethiopian
New Year and the conclusion of Ramadan and the start of the Eid.
It is our aim to then help organize all the winners of legislative seats in the
June election into a de facto CONSTITUENT ASSEMBLY to work together without respect to political party, ethnicity,
geography, or other invidious discriminatory animus to prepare and submit to a binding National Referendum of All ethiopian
citizens in and without Ethiopia, for its approval or rejection, a New Modern Democratic Federative Constitution.
For us, it is a sine qua non of the new Constitution to be voted upon, that
it will contain a mandate for Two Nationwide Elections to be held among the same electorate as that for the Referendum
on Approval to be held within 3 months and six months respectively for a new Unicameral Legislative Assembly, and a National
President.
